Michael O’Connor is president of Style & Substance, Inc., helping jewelry and luxury goods companies with branding, strategy, marketing, public relations and promotional programs. Additionally, via his television endeavors, O’Connor has become one of America’s leading voices on style trends regularly appearing on a variety of shows such as The Today Show, Access Hollywood, EXTRA, E! News, and Entertainment Tonight. He is QVC’s Jewelry and Style expert and style editor for QVC.com. As Reelz Channels Style Correspondent, he hosts Fashion Friday segments and appears on Fashion Fanatics red carpet style review shows. Throughout the year you can see him quoted and interviewed in a variety of media, providing style and trend advice. O’Connor serves on the advisory boards of The Fashion School at Kent State University and The Jewelry Information Center. 


In a career spanning over 30 years, Michael O’Connor has been involved in every facet of the jewelry industry. Starting out in the retail sector, followed by a successful career in design, O’Connor has worked with numerous internationally recognized brands and has been involved in the design of some of the most-followed trends. O’Connor broadened his scope to marketing while at Frederick Goldman, Inc., where he was Director of Corporate Marketing for 10 years developing strategy, positioning, advertising and PR for the well known brands within their portfolio. For seven years as Senior Vice President of Platinum Guild International USA, O’Connor headed up all U.S. marketing and communications programs and strategy. His experience on the marketing agency side includes developing strategies, plans and tactics, including Hollywood outreach and co-marketing programs for a variety of luxury brands such as Faberge, Henry Dunay, Fur Information Council of America, Clotheslines.com, JCK, Luxury and The Couture Show. Concurrently, O’Connor began his work as a celebrity stylist and television style commentator covering red carpet trends for TV Guide Channel and Reuters International Television and critiquing celebrity style choices on “Fashion Wrap” with Joan and Melissa Rivers.
