Jesse Balaity
Balaity Property Enhancement Owner
Sarasota, FL
Jesse R. Balaity is a consultant specializing in retail environment design. His experience is a culmination of a traditional architecture education and hands-on experience.
Jesse began in New Orleans, where he earned a Masters of Architecture at Tulane University. In New Orleans, he worked with the firms Barron + Toups and later Trapolin Architects, before returning to his home town of Sarasota and joining the ADP Group. In his first career as a project designer and manager with these firms, Mr. Balaity focused primarily on retail and hospitality projects ranging from individual gallery spaces to the design of a resort island.
In 2011, Jesse launched Balaity Property Enhancement to explore his passion for the design of immersive retail environments, particularly for independent retailers. His successful projects result from his ability to orchestrate a cohesive experience, from the building design to branding and merchandising, while always prioritizing return on investment. He strives to create the kind of thoroughly conceived experiences that are typical of polished national brands, but also for independent retailers that frequently find this level of design elusive. Within the realm of retail design, Jesse further specializes in the design of jewelry stores. These include winners of InStore Magazine’s Americas Coolest Store awards: The Diamond Vault (2011) and Fox Fine Jewelry (2015). In addition, Jesse designed three other independent jewelry stores around the U.S. and the new “store of the future” for the Piercing Pagoda.
Since founding Balaity Property Enhancement, Jesse developed a portfolio of projects and long-standing client relationships across the U.S., Canada, and Bahamas. He serves as a staff designer for Madison Marquette and Principal Global Investors, working on the landlord side to improve properties and coordinate tenant design. He is also the conceptual designer for the Sarasota firm Patrick M. Pillot Architect, for whom he conceives a variety of retail, urban infill, institutional, and educational projects.
